Khao Beach Resorts on Phuket
MaiKhao Beach is the longest stretch of unbroken sand on
Phuket. It runs from the airport all the way to the end of the island. The
area is so lovely that it is primarily being developed for upscale residential
estates. But . . . a few special resorts are sprinkled into the mix.
Two excellent resorts are on offer in the area: The JW
Marriott and the Sala Phuket.

Always excellently reviewed, the
JW Marriott was the pioneer
in the area and dominates a long stretch of the beach.
Some people find it too distant from the tourist areas -
others find it a delightful destination resort, with little need to go anywhere
else. It is, in fact, closer to the best golf courses, Ao Por Pier and the
jumping off points to the Similan and Surin Islands, than the tourist areas on
the south of the island.
JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa is comprised of 265 deluxe
guest rooms of which 13 are suites. All guest rooms are ocean facing with
stunning views of the lush tropical gardens and pools. A majority of rooms have
a full or partial view of the Andaman Sea.

A beautiful new addition to the area, the
Sala Phuket Resort
sits on prime beach front and evokes a sense of quiet and relaxation found in
only the best of resorts.
Sala Phuket is comprised of 79 stylish, spacious villas,
including 63 villas with private swimming pools! 7 different varieties of
accommodations are available, featuring spacious Deluxe Balcony Rooms, Garden
Pool Villas, signature SALA Pool Villas, several styles of 1 and 2 bedroom
suites, and the palatial beachfront Presidential Pool Villa Suite (613 sq.m
including a private 38 sq.m swimming pool).
The photos page of the resort doesn't do it justice - look
more for the peacefulness in the setting rather than just the design.
