Sailing
Phuket and Phang Nga Bay
Phuket Sail Tours is an alternative tour for people
looking for a trip that is away from the usual crowds,
and that takes in the best scenery that the Phuket area
has to offer. The tour is at a relaxed pace, as the
yacht Sakai sails leisurely through the many islands of
Phang Nga Bay.
The yacht is licensed for a maximum of 10 guests, but
usually has fewer than that on board.
The trip has become very popular as a result of the
frequent reports on various travel forums from people
who have enjoyed the experience. The most popular tour
is a join-in day tour to Kho Phanak where the Sakai
sails to hongs, sea caves, lagoons and etc. Lunch is at
an isolated beach where guests swim and have a picnic
lunch.
A feature of the day is the excellent food, supplied
in abundance....fruit, fried chicken, Thai desserts,
Thai curry, rice, stir fried vegetables and the best Tom
Yum Goong (prawn soup) in the known universe. And on the
way home more fruit, cheese and crackers and a beer or
two to wash them down. And don't forget the
fresh seafood, usually prawns, purchased from fisherman
along the way. All this food is prepared on board.
During the day the guests are ferried to sea caves,
hongs, lagoons and the beautiful places that are to be
found at Phanak Island. All the while steering clear of
the large tour companies. Wildlife is often seen;
monkeys, iguana, kingfishers, sea eagles, bats and mud
skippers to name a few.
The tour is very popular with all ages, including
families with children. The kids get a great kick out of
the adventure aspect of the tour.
The tour is available as a join in day tour, or at a
very competitive rate for private charter. Overnight
tours are also available by private charter and the
experienced crew can take you to many of the other
wonderful places to be found in Phang Nga Bay and
surrounding areas.
