The Trisara Drive:
Northwest Phuket Scenic Drive

The drive north from the Laguna Resorts past Layan Beach, up to the Trisara Resort and on to Nai Thon beach has some of the best sea views on Phuket.   And it is a relaxing back country road. Take your camera!

From the entrance to the Laguna Resorts head out of the resorts area towards Cherng Talay.  Turn on the first paved road to your left (only a few hundred meters) and follow this meandering road always heading north. 

After Layan the road gets quite curvy and climbs a few hills.  Drive slowly as one 90-degree corner is very sharp and you will approach it with very little warning.  Careful!  No need to be in a hurry anyway as you are in a paradise.

The road winds along several seaside cliffs and several vantage points are offered where you can hear the sea pounding on the rocks below.

After Nai Thon Beach the road heads east and over the mountain to another main road.  From there you can head north to Nai Yang or head back north or south.

Between Naithon Beach and the Trisara are several small, beautiful and quite unknown beaches.  They are typically accessed via longtail boat from Naithon Beach.  Nowadays though people are breaking a trail down to the beaches.  The trail though is steep and can be difficult.  But - well worth it.

If you have the time, cruise some of the new property developments along this route.  This part of the island is quickly becoming home to some of the most exclusive villas on Phuket and South-East Asia.  Trisara's multi-million dollar villas were sold out before they were even built.  You'll see why though, this is a very special part of the island.

It's worth getting away from the tourist centers, you'll be glad you did.
